About Fred Cook

Fred Cook is a highly rated 35-year Houston lawyer, a husband, father and active member of his community, who is ready to serve the people of Harris County. For the last 32 years, Fred has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state civil trials and appeals on a wide range of litigation, including banking, bankruptcy, construction, contract disputes, insurance, oil & gas, real estate and trust cases. 


Fred is a native of Ohio, and a graduate of Wabash College. He earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1982, and since then has lived and practiced here in Houston. Over the course of his career, Fred has attained a number of professional affiliations and distinctions, including:

Fred Cook is also an active member of the Houston community. He was a longtime precinct chair (268) and election judge in his Bellaire neighborhood. Fred attends Christchurch Presbyterian Church, and for seven years served as Director of the Texas Conference of Churches. He also served on the Initial Steering Committee for the Bellaire Chapter of the Caring for Children Foundation.


Fred and his wife Julia, also an attorney, are the proud parents of two adult daughters - Claire and Karen.
